Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between students' emotional intelligence and bullying behavior in class V at SDN Gayungan II / 432 Surabaya. This research is descriptive quantitative research with a correlational study design. The sample used in this research was class V A and B as many as 54 students. The sampling technique in this research used Probability Sampling. The data collection method used in this research is a closed questionnaire (Questionnaire) where students will be given several statements and will be provided with answer choices, namely very suitable, suitable, not suitable, very not suitable. The data analysis technique used in this research is statistical tests consisting of normality tests, linearity tests, and product moment correlation tests. Data analysis techniques were carried out using the IBM SPSS 20 for Windows program. In the results of the normality test analysis, researchers used the Kolmogrov Smirnov normality test which obtained a significance value for emotional intelligence of 0.200 and the Bullying Behavior variable of 0.032. The Kolmogrov Smirnov sig number is higher than the significance level of 5% (0.05) or sig.> 0.05. Which means it is normally distributed. The results of the Linearity Test obtained a significance value (Sig), the Deviaton From Linearity Sig value was 0.025, which was greater than 0.05. So it can be concluded that there is a significant linear relationship between the variables emotional intelligence (X) and bullying behavior (Y). significant between the variables Emotional Intelligence (X) and Bullying Behavior (Y). The results of the hypothetical Person Product Moment Correlation test show a correlation coefficient of 0.380 with a significance of 0.005 (p<0.05). The Pearson correlation value is at a Pearson Correlation value of 0.20 to 0.39 = Low correlation. So, it can be concluded that the hypothesis in this study Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, because the significant value is (0.380) < (0.05) meaning that emotional intelligence has a low correlation with bullying behavior.
